Officers from the Border Police, Patrol Police Department, and Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance have detained two individuals for transporting a migrant across Georgia’s state border and unlawfully crossing the frontier.

The investigation uncovered that a Turkish citizen, identified as O.B., born in 1993, clandestinely smuggled a fellow Turkish citizen, identified as I.A., born in 1999, from Türkiye into Georgia. This was carried out through a concealed compartment in the trailer of a truck driven by O.B., specifically at the Sarpi border crossing point.

The investigation remains ongoing under Articles 344 and 344 Prima of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which prescribe imprisonment for up to five years.
