The Kvemo Kartli Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has arrested two individuals, R.I. (born in 1984) and another person born in 1990, for alleged election violations.
According to the Ministry, the investigation found that during the October 26, 2024 parliamentary elections, the suspects placed unauthorized ballot papers in the voting box at Election Precinct No. 69 in Saddhuli, Marneuli municipality.
The Marneuli District Election Commission subsequently invalidated the results at this precinct and halted voting.
The suspects are charged under Article 164 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which addresses intentional falsification of election documents, including ballots and registration materials. If convicted, they face up to two years in prison.
