Three arrested in drug bust as large quantities of narcotics seized
Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have detained three individuals: D.M., born in 1992, and Azerbaijani nationals R.H., born in 2001, and H.D., born in 1991. They face charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of a significantly large amount of narcotics, as well as the illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic substances.
“Following searches conducted at the personal and residential premises of those apprehended on suspicion of drug-related offences, law enforcement officers recovered a substantial quantity of various narcotics, which serve as evidence. The seized items include 75 packages of ‘methadone’ prepared for sale, as well as dried ‘marijuana’ and ‘cannabis plants’.
Materials used for the cultivation and packaging of narcotics were also confiscated,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a statement.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation is ongoing under Articles 260, 260-Quarter, and 265-Prima of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or even life imprisonment.
