“Eleven years of education are sufficient to provide a comprehensive general education; however, those who wish to study Year 12 will have the opportunity to do so through a dedicated registration process,” stated Minister of Education Givi Mikanadze during the presentation of the general education reform.

As the Minister explained, students will be able to register each year in March.

“The reality is this: the Ministry of Education and Science fully commits to ensuring that 11 years of schooling are enough to deliver a well-rounded general education. At the same time, we are introducing a voluntary component, whereby we will open a registration window each March. Any individual wishing to pursue their studies in the 12th grade will be able to register.

Consequently, Year 12 will be specifically available for them in the upcoming academic year, thus accommodating their aspirations,” Mikanadze added.
