The third stage of taxi reform will take effect on April 1, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated at a municipal government meeting, promising to present details of the project to society and all interested stakeholders on February 2.

Tbilisi City Hall will kick off the awareness campaign with booklets delivered to taxi drivers. Staff at the Service Center, as well as hotline operators, received training, the mayor announced.

“It will be particularly fascinating for taxi drivers in terms of their future. This will be another step ahead in terms of support, and we will do all that is possible to ensure the success of this reform,” Kaladze explained.

Tbilisi City Hall announced in 2018 that taxi reform would be one of its top goals.
