The US Embassy - The Jvari project has been invited to the second round of the AFCP

“The Jvari project has been invited to the second round of the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP), in a highly competitive call,” the US Embassy in Georgia announced today.

The Embassy noted that “if selected, the project will be extended to cover the entire outer sandstone masonry of the building, including all four facades and all eight sides of the drum, about 1200 square meters of wall surface in total.”

The first phase of the Jvari Monastery project, ongoing now, has been funded with $100,000 through the AFCP.
