School teachers, who failed their proficiency examinations, held a protest rally at Rustaveli Avenue in downtown Tbilisi.
Teachers demand a meeting with the Chairman of the Education Committee and cancellation of the decision, saying that failed teachers face a temporary contract and then replacement.
“I am heartbroken. It took me years to become a teacher and why I have to leave school as an illiterate,” said Nino Khubua, a primary school teacher.
