Tbilisi Mayor: We must implement policies that serve our country’s future

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has responded to the recent sanctions imposed by the U.S. State Department against five individuals accused of censoring content on American online platforms.

Kaladze described this development as a clear example of double standards.

“What is forbidden for us appeared to be permissible for them. There are many more such examples of this attitude. The public can see clearly what is happening. The most important thing is to pursue policies that are in the best interests of our country’s future. As you can see, everyone acts according to what their country requires; we should do the same,” said Kakha Kaladze.

For context, the U.S. State Department has barred five individuals from entering the United States for their role in censoring content on American online platforms, including former European Commissioner Thierry Breton.
