Tbilisi Mayor: We deserved EU candidate status from outset but they made unfair decision
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said on Wednesday that the country has “positive expectations” about gaining EU candidate status because “important reforms” have been done.
The Mayor claimed that the 12-point plan was “meticulously executed.”
“Georgia spared no effort to get the EU candidate country status. We deserved this status from the beginning, but they made an unfair decision.
We are well aware of why, what, and the reasons behind their plan, but I will not look back at the past. We were given a detailed strategy to follow, and everything was done precisely.
We believe the nation will be granted candidate status. There is no reason or logic why Georgia should not be given the status,” he added.
