“Georgian Dream will have big support in local self-governance elections, people saw that our policy prevented misfortune facing Georgia,” said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

According to Kaladze, the ruling team has launched preparations for the elections.

“Georgian Dream will have big support in local self-governance elections, which are significant. People saw how important our-led policy was, through which the country avoided misfortune. What is happening in Ukraine is hard. We all remember calls from the radical opposition on opening the second front, joining sanctions. Can you imagine what would have happened if we committed this mistake,” he said.

Remarking on the opposition’s statements of no intention to participate in the elections, Kakha Kaladze said the opposition had no chance.

“I am not aware of the opposition’s plans. However, they have no chance of success. This is a radical group, which receives instructions from abroad, serves foreign forces and pursues others’ interests. Of course, society will always appropriately respond to such a treacherous, stateless group of people. It is clear why they do not want to participate in the elections. They know they will be defeated. They have no chance in any region or city,” he said.

Tbilisi Mayor added he would further inform society if he planned to run for Tbilisi Mayor in the local elections.
