Tbilisi Mayor says everyone who commits crime will be held accountable under law
According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, all individuals who have committed crimes will be held accountable before the law. He made this clear to journalists while commenting on statements made by former Defence Minister Bacho Akhalaia during a court hearing concerning the overthrow of the country’s government.
He noted that the warnings and calls for action were well recognised before October 4 and continue to be so today.
“We all remember these calls, which persisted both before and after October 4. There was a comprehensive campaign aimed at a coup d’état, the overthrow of the government, and the organisation of a revolution. Then, on October 4, they began implementing these plans. However, our relevant agencies acted strictly within the framework of the law. Everyone who has committed a crime, of course, will be held accountable under the law,” Kaladze affirmed.
Former Georgian Defence Minister Bacho Akhalaia previously stated: “I personally believe that this government must be overthrown as swiftly and as ruthlessly as possible, by any means necessary.”
