Tbilisi Mayor leads municipal gov't meeting on infrastructure and social programs
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze chaired a municipal government meeting during which he announced that the Infrastructure Development Municipal Service is overseeing fortification works on a slope along Tsneti Road.
According to Kakha Kaladze, there is a persistent threat of landslides in the area, making it unsafe for traffic.
“To stabilize the slope, anchors, steel mesh, and a reinforced concrete retaining wall will be constructed. For safety reasons, vehicle movement will be partially restricted during the work,” he stated, adding that the project is expected to be completed within eight months.
The Mayor also informed that road repairs will begin in the coming days on several streets in the settlement of Mukhiani’s summer houses.
“The situation in Mukhiani has been unbearable, with inadequate communications and no proper road access. Even public transport has struggled to navigate the area,” he noted.
In discussing social programs, Kakha Kaladze announced that Tbilisi City Hall has increased one-time financial assistance to GEL 10,000 for citizens aged 100 and older.
He remarked that in 2004, 57 elderly individuals received financial assistance of GEL 1,000, among whom 23 turned 100 and 34 were 101 or older.
