Tbilisi Mayor declares opposition has no chance of success in upcoming local elections
“The opposition is doomed to defeat in the upcoming local elections,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated when asked about the participation of opposition parties in the forthcoming municipal vote.
“It doesn’t matter what decisions they make, what instructions they follow, or how they act. Their failure is certain, and they have no real chance of winning. How can a political party that serves foreign interests hope to succeed?” Kaladze questioned.
According to the Mayor, the ruling Georgian Dream party has been actively preparing for the 2025 local elections.
“We began our preparations long ago. While we’ve implemented numerous successful projects across Tbilisi and the regions, challenges still remain. That’s why we need to engage with communities in all regions and municipalities, and clearly communicate our plans for the coming years,” he emphasised.
