Tbilisi Mayor condemns deceit surrounding Eagle Hills project, decries attack on national development
“We are witnessing a proliferation of lies surrounding the Eagle Hills project, an outright attack on the state, driven by certain forces that are uncomfortable with the country’s economic progress,” stated Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze to journalists.
In his remarks to the media, Kaladze emphasised that the realisation of such a large-scale project significantly contributes to economic growth and the creation of new employment opportunities. However, he criticised the spread of lies, describing it as a direct assault on the nation.
“It is no coincidence that we see so much falsehood and slander circulating about this project. This is a deliberate attack on the state. We are aware of the forces fighting us, both domestically and internationally. These groups are unhappy with our economic development, reconstruction, and progress.
I believe society will ultimately recognise the importance of implementing projects of this magnitude for our country. Such initiatives foster job creation and have a positive impact on our economic development. Foreign direct investment is also vital for the Georgian companies involved in construction and related sectors,” emphasised the Mayor of Tbilisi.
