Tbilisi Mayor announces wage increase for public kindergarten employees
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has announced that the wages of approximately 13,500 employees working full shifts at Tbilisi’s public kindergartens will increase by GEL 125.
According to Kaladze, this decision was in line with a pre-election promise made by the Prime Minister. The mayor stated that 2024 had been an outstanding year in terms of support for the preschool education system in Tbilisi.
In his remarks, Kaladze highlighted several notable developments in the city’s kindergarten infrastructure:
“Five new kindergartens have been opened in Tbilisi, two buildings have been fully reconstructed, and construction of seven more is currently underway,” he said.
Additionally, the Tbilisi City Hall has provided kindergartens with essential supplies, including food, toys, and linens.
