Tbilisi City Hall extends Sports for Elderly municipal program

The municipal program “Sports for the Elderly,” launched in 2022, will continue this year. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced during the municipal government meeting that various private and legal entities have joined the program.

“This was our election promise to allow people aged 60 and above to use various municipal sports infrastructure—swimming pools and fitness centres—for free,” he stated. “Over 2,500 people are already involved in the program.”

To enhance its geographical accessibility, several private sports organizations and legal entities have joined the initiative, including Aspria Group with two sports facilities and Power Mix LTD with one, he noted.

The Tbilisi Mayor added that the municipal program is now available in sports centres located in Gldani-Nadzaladevi, Didi Dighomi, and the multifaceted public centre on Asatiani Street and Arena sports complex.

According to Kakha Kaladze, the program’s expansion is expected to increase the number of participants by approximately 1,000 beneficiaries.
