Tbilisi City Court bans USA2GEORGIA from alienating, taking possession of consumers' parcels
Tbilisi City Court upheld the Georgian National Competition Agency’s plea in the USA2GEORGIA dispute in favour of customers’ property rights.
The City Court ruled that if a customer fails to pay a 30-day storage charge, the cargo would not be immediately forfeited. Before the final judgement is made at the end of January, the USA2GEORGIA company is prohibited from possessing any goods held in a parcel.
The National Competition Agency has received 107 applications as of January 16. It is still investigating 58 complaints. In December 2022, the agency launched a probe into USA2GEORGIA’s alleged breach of consumers’ rights.
