Tbilisi Airport wins five international awards of Airports Council International

The Airports Council International (ACI) has awarded Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport in five categories across Europe, Tbilisi International Airport reported.

According to a customer experience survey, Tbilisi Airport was recognized as the best among airports handling up to five million passengers in the following categories: customer-oriented staff, ease of travel, pleasant departure experience, best departure service offering, and cleanliness.

ACI presents the Customer Experience Awards annually. It is the only global benchmarking program that measures passenger satisfaction while travelers are physically at the airport, providing a highly accurate assessment of each stage of the journey. In 2025, ACI identified top-performing airports in six categories worldwide, with Tbilisi Airport receiving recognition in five. The data for the analysis was collected over a two-year period.

“Maintaining a high standard of customer experience and receiving international recognition amid unprecedented passenger traffic growth is the result of our team’s daily dedicated work, and we are very proud of this achievement. This year, we are launching an airport expansion project that will increase passenger capacity to 10 million. This is a timely investment. From 2028, the upgraded infrastructure will allow us to provide passengers with even more comfortable services and an enhanced travel experience,” said Tea Zakaradze, General Manager of TAV Georgia, which manages the Tbilisi and Batumi airports.

The official award ceremony for the 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards will take place on September 2, 2026, in Istanbul, during the ACI World Airport Experience Summit.

On January 15, 2026, the Government of Georgia extended the management agreement for Tbilisi Airport with TAV Airports, a member of the French aviation group Groupe ADP. Under the new agreement, USD 150 million will be invested in the expansion of Tbilisi International Airport.
