Tako Charkviani, the leader of the Law and Justice party, was removed from the courtroom after saying “it is a shame when corrupt people try a third president. Today’s trial is shameful.”
Her comments came after Georgia’s ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili called the prosecutors “traitors” while attending a trial hearing on the embezzlement of state funds for personal purposes while in office.
Judge Badri Kochlamazashvili responded to Saakashvili, saying, “calling a public servant a traitor is hard to hear.”
