Strong Georgia’s Samadashvili questions intentions of Gakharia for Georgia regarding electoral lists
“Given that the parliamentary credentials of all opposition politicians, except for the members of Giorgi Gakharia’s party, have been revoked, I wonder if they plan to withdraw their electoral lists or if they have some other justifications,” wrote Salome Samadashvili, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia coalition, in a post on social media.
The Parliament has prematurely terminated the mandates of 49 members from three opposition alliances: Coalition for Change – Gvaramia, Melia, Girchi, Droa; Strong Georgia – Lelo for People for Freedom; and the United National Movement.
The Gakharia for Georgia party has declined to enter Parliament. However, they have neither submitted an official statement nor made a formal appeal to Parliament to request the termination of their mandates.
