Strong Georgia–Lelo leaders hold working session with diaspora members in Europe over voting rights lawsuit

General Secretary of Strong Georgia–Lelo, Irakli Kupradze, and First Deputy Secretary, Giorgi Sioridze, have held a meeting with Georgian emigrants residing in European countries.

According to a statement released by Strong Georgia–Lelo, party leaders briefed diaspora members on the constitutional lawsuit filed to restore their voting rights in elections, as well as details of the upcoming campaign.

The online session was held in an interactive question-and-answer format.

“Coalition leaders discussed the legal mechanisms being deployed to safeguard the right of emigrants to participate in elections. The leaders of Strong Georgia–Lelo presented participants with every legal and political lever available to protect their rights. Emigrants expressed their readiness to engage directly in the process by submitting individual lawsuits to the Constitutional Court, which will be consolidated with Strong Georgia–Lelo’s constitutional claim. As part of the campaign, we will establish working groups of emigrants from various countries to meet weekly and align action plans with the relevant departments of Strong Georgia–Lelo. Protecting the voting rights of emigrants remains a top priority for Strong Georgia–Lelo,” the party statement read.
