Strategy’s Vashadze announces May 26 rally: Engaging speeches to inspire people, return home and continue struggle ahead

“It is very important that many of us are there on May 26, and that we clearly affirm that this is, to some extent, a confirmation of our ongoing struggle and that the people support it,” said Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders of the Opposition Alliance.

He added that the public will witness great unity on the day.

“On May 26, at 7:00 p.m., we will gather at the university and march towards Rustaveli. I emphasise that there will be no movement from Rustaveli itself. There will be speeches, interesting content, and a specific process that I believe will engage the public. We will go home in the evening and pick up the fight with renewed vigour. For me, May 26 is a day to rally these forces. We are all invited to this rally; it is very important for us to be numerous and to clearly affirm that this is, to some degree, a confirmation of our struggle and that the people stand behind us. The regime is attempting to tarnish our image, but it is impossible to discredit ordinary people walking among the people, not from the comfort of a room or an office. May 26 will be a very good and joyful day, and we will demonstrate great unity to the public. No matter how hard the other side tries to provoke disorder, they will not succeed,” Vashadze declared.
