Strategy Aghmashenebeli supports establishment of national consent government

A member of the opposition Strategy Aghmashenebeli party, Paata Manjgaladze supports the idea announced during the June 24 rally at Rustaveli Avenue to establish the national consent government, which will ensure fulfillment of all recommendations for EU candidate status before January, 2023.

Paata Manjgaladze said that the Georgian society demands resignation of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. This is a demand of the Georgian people and not a particular political party.

“People, who participate in the rallies, want Georgia to become a member of the European Union. Europe proposed a 12-point action plan and we should do the best to implement it. Positions are of secondary importance. This is not a struggle for power and those who protest do not wish to assign power to any particular political group,” Manjgaladze said.

According to the Strategy Aghmashenebeli member, if the government was accountable before the society like in any normal country, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili would take into account the viewpoint of approximately 100 000 demonstrators and resign.

Shame Movement, which is the organizer of Home to Europe rallies at Rustaveli Avenue demanded resignation of Prime Minister and the government before July 3. Government of national consent must be formed to implement all 12 EU-recommendations.
