The opposition Strategy Aghmashenebeli party echoed the joint letter of opposition political parties. It said publishing the letter ahead of talks is a “tactical mistake” because it means drawing lines before consultations that reduce the space for negotiations and the possibility of reaching an agreement.

According to the Strategy Aghmashenebeli, the opposition and the government should find ways towards each other and not impose new barriers with rigid and dividing positions.

“Compromise and agreement are needed not for any particular party, government or opposition, but for Georgia, every citizen. Therefore, we must find ways towards each other and not impose new barriers with rigid and divisive positions.

The government is responsible for the crisis and it must understand that the negotiation process will not be helped by an attempt by one of the parties or groups to adapt the issues covered by the draft six-point agreement to their own interests,” the party said in its statement.

Eight opposition parties released a joint statement on Saturday based on which they are ready to become engaged in the parliament work if they reach an agreement with the government.
