Strategy Aghmashenebeli equates participation in elections with subordination, not resistance
“The regime will not go anywhere if we accept its game rules. Participation in the elections under their rules means subordination and not resistance,” said Paata Manjgaladze, a member of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party.
According to Paata Manjgaladze, by engagement in the adversary’s game, the results, the regime writes, will be assigned legitimacy.
“I don’t know what the discourse over participation in local elections serves. We have to be oriented on how to resolve the crisis and create a common national agenda. Forgetting the recent past means repetition of committed mistakes. By the engagement in the adversary’s game, the results, the regime writes, will be signed,” he said.
Paata Manjgaladze said phoney elections and party games are futile if not demonstration of readiness to fight to the end.
“The regime will not go anywhere if we accept its game rules. Participation in the elections under their rules will mean subordination and not resistance. Today we require national unity rather than narrow-party interests, foremostly in people and then in politics. I reiterate that we should create a common national agenda not for internal games but for real changes. Time is running out.
The regime daily seizes our future and if we do not act today, it will be late tomorrow. Victory is possible but not with divisions and adversary’s rules but with unity and our rules,” he concluded.
