State Secretary for Asylum and Migration of Belgium to visit Georgia

State Secretary for Asylum and Migration of Belgium Theo Francken plans to visit Georgia – Belgian News Agency BRF reports.

According to BRF, the visit is connected to the increased number of Georgian citizens seeking asylum in Belgium. Francken will also visit Albania.

BRF writes that about 35 Georgian citizens were asking for provision of asylum every month in 2017. The number tripled in March. About 800 citizens asked Belgium for asylum from Albania in 2017.
