State Minister presents information portal for conflict-affected population in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions
State Minister Tea Akhvlediani has introduced a new unified information portal to aid the conflict-affected population in Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali regions.
The portal aims to facilitate the participation of these residents in various programs and services of interest to them, providing easy access to relevant information.
During the presentation, Akhvlediani emphasized the Georgian government’s commitment to improving the socio-economic conditions of those living in the occupied regions, highlighting that this initiative is a primary component of the government’s peace policy.
“The new portal is intended to offer a better future for those affected by conflict, ensuring that fundamental rights and opportunities are available to those in regions. Taking into account that the Georgian authorities, unfortunately, have limited access to the regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, we think that the launch of a unified information portal will create a way for people behind the dividing line to have easy access to information of interest to them to receive services and benefits related to health care, education, business development, receiving civil services and other areas,” Akhvlediani stated.
The portal, created through the initiative of the Office of the State Minister in collaboration with various ministries and supported by international partners, is set to be fully implemented in Georgian, English, Abkhaz, and Ossetian languages by September.
