SSSG to question Tina Khidasheli, Gubaz Sanikidze, Giorgi Kandelaki
The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), within the framework of the ongoing investigation, will question Tina Khidasheli, former defence minister, Gubaz Sanikidze, a member of the United National Movement (UNM) party and Giorgi Kandelaki, a former member of the UNM, before a judge in the court.
The SSSG confirmed this information to the GPB’s First Channel.
“The State Security Service summoned Tina Khidasheli, Gubaz Sanikidze and Giorgi Kandelaki, who, at their own wish, will be questioned before a judge in the court,” the SSSG said.
The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) stated in its earlier statement: “In recent days, various individuals publicly stated about the recruitment of personnel from other countries in Georgia, reports included accusations and hints of terrorism.”
According to the SSSG, it is examining the statements, and an investigation is launched.
“We are closely monitoring both the content of these statements, which are contrary to the factual data, as well as the motivation of their authors to accuse Georgia of such issues, especially amid ongoing military hostilities in the region, taking into account that none of the authors has provided law enforcement agencies with any information.
An investigation is launched, and the authors of the statements will be questioned. They will be given the opportunity to at least indicate some specific facts within the framework of the investigation,” the SSSG said.
