SSG releases statement on Soso Gogashvili’s arrest

State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) reported that the former deputy head of the SSG, Soso Gogashvili, was arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation.

According to the SSG, his arrest became inevitable as a result of investigative actions.

“On the basis of the judge’s decision, the search operation was conducted relating to the ongoing criminal case. As a result of the search, it became inevitable to arrest him”, the SSG said but did not elaborate on more details.

The former deputy head of the State Security Service, Soso Gogashvili, was arrested as a result of a special operation conducted at his house last night. The footage was released by the family members on the social network.
