Special Investigation Service says it probes into excessive use of force against transparency bill protesters
The Special Investigation Service is probing into potential abuse of official authority by violence under Article 333, Part 3, Sub-paragraph “b” of the Criminal Code of Georgia in connection with the reports of excessive use of force against the participants of a rally in front of the Parliament of Georgia on April 30 and May 1.
The Special Investigation Service receives reports of incidents through the hotline, from the temporary detention centre, and the Office of the Public Defender. Then, the service takes appropriate legal measures and conducts investigations.
The Special Investigation Service will update the public about the progress and results of the investigation.
