Speaker urges British Embassy to disclose its financing in connection with 2024 parliamentary elections

“I urge the British Embassy to disclose who and in what amount it financed in connection with the 2024 parliamentary elections, and who it finances currently,” wrote Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Facebook.

The Speaker also applies to individuals who might have information about the British Embassy’s funding.

“The statement of the British Embassy reveals that the Embassy intended to fund party propaganda and extremist politicians with the declared goal to disrupt local elections, which confirms suspicions that this was not the first attempt to finance propaganda and extremism.

I urge the British Embassy to disclose who and in what amount it financed in connection with the 2024 parliamentary elections, and who it finances currently. I also apply to individuals who might have information about the British Embassy’s funding,” he said.
