Speaker slams EU Ambassador for arrogance, telling Georgia not to host Russian tourists, be hungry, and halt wine sales while EU funds Russia

“Today, Brussels is empty of principles. It’s a gathering of bureaucrats whose only aim seems to be to cause harm,” said the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.

He argued that Brussels is not only destroying the futures of others but also endangering its own people.

“Recently, the Swedish Foreign Minister or Prime Minister stated that the European Union has paid Russia more money than it has paid Ukraine over the past four years. Now, the EU ambassador dares to tell us, Georgians, who face our own challenges, not to allow Russian tourists in, to go hungry, and not to sell wine. Who gave the EU ambassador, speaking to us in that tone, the authority to tell us what to do? They should stop funding Russia themselves. Sitting beside him was an ambassador from a Baltic country, which exports more wine to Russia than we do. That’s the hypocrisy of the EU today.

Brussels is a place devoid of values, a bureaucratic assembly whose only purpose is to harm others. They lack the ability, the power, or the creative approach to anything constructive. All Brussels does now is cause destruction. Most importantly, it destroys the futures of others and its own people. That’s why the European people have raised their voices against Brussels and its puppets,” Papuashvili declared.
