“There are two false narratives in which Brussels invested enormous political energy and financial resources: Georgia’s Parliament adopted a ‘Russian law’, Georgia’s Government suspended the European integration process,” writes Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of Georgia’s Parliament, on social media.

According to Papuashvili, truth cannot forever be disguised by propaganda.

“Time has passed, and it has been confirmed that the law is American, that Brussels itself has suspended the integration process. Narrative cannot change reality. Truth cannot forever be disguised by propaganda.

Brussels’s decline in values began when it recognised disinformation and propaganda as acceptable political weapons, and thereby itself violated the very principles upon which Europe was built: freedom, justice, and honest dialogue.

The attempt to achieve moral aims through immoral methods will, sooner or later, damage even the most worthy of intentions.

Therefore, the first step that Brussels must take to return to the path of European values is to renounce disinformation and propaganda. Only by returning to truth will Brussels be able to become once more the Europe that was once regarded as synonymous with freedom and justice,” writes Shalva Papuashvili.
