Speaker: Nino Lomjaria was Brussels’ instrument for hybrid interference; they are recalling their instrument to prepare another attack on Georgia

“Nino Lomjaria served as Brussels’ instrument of hybrid attack and interference during Georgia’s 2024 elections,” Speaker Shalva Papuashvili told journalists.

The Parliament Speaker was asked about an enlargement conference scheduled for November, to which Nino Lomjaria is reportedly the sole invitee from Georgia.

“Nino Lomjaria was funded by Brussels, through various European funds, to enable foreign interference in Georgia’s elections. Nino Lomjaria spread disinformation regarding the elections. As Public Defender, she told untruths concerning Saakashvili’s health; in the history of the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia, she committed its greatest disgrace by releasing false conclusions regarding a convicted individual. Apparently, they are recalling their instrument to prepare it once again for an attack on Georgia. This further demonstrates Brussels’ immature policy. It is childish behaviour, the way Brussels, and indeed the EU Ambassador, conducts itself. At times I can scarcely believe my eyes regarding what we are dealing with; yet these people claim to be global players. That is precisely why they are excluded from any serious international dialogue. They are begging to be included in negotiations regarding the Ukraine–Russia war, yet neither Russia nor the Americans have any interest in talking to them. Through this very immaturity, they brought this exact fate upon themselves. This confrontational path leads nowhere; it damages the European Union itself,” Shalva Papuashvili declared.
