Speaker meets US State Department Anti-Corruption Coordinator

Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met the US State Department Global Anti-Corruption Coordinator Richard Nephew, who pays a visit to Georgia.

Following the meeting, which the Speaker described as “fruitful,” Shalva Papuashvili wrote on Facebook that the Anti-Corruption Coordinator positively assessed Georgia’s progress and remarked that his visit aimed to contribute to the dialogue and share his experience in the fight against corruption.

“I spoke about the recent reforms in Georgia, including the fight against corruption. I reviewed Georgia’s progress on the EU integration path and international rankings that properly reflect the steps taken by Georgia,” he said.

US Coordinator on Global Anti-Corruption Richard Nephew travels to Armenia and Georgia from January 15-18.
