Speaker: June 20 disclosed political radicalization plan, structure, form
“Today is June 20, the day which after 2012, fully disclosed the political radicalization plan, structure and form, the day when the UNM’s retribution seeker politicians put forward on the arena the activists fed for years with hatred, especially their vulnerable and agitated part and allowed them to attack the parliament,” wrote Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Facebook.
According to Papuashvili, the UNM labelled the June 20, 2019 attack on the parliament as a “protest of heat-hearted people.”
“The main thing which we witnessed on June 20 was a merge of NGO-fed activists and their participation in a radical political scenario. We saw meddling of foreigners in the country’s internal affairs and their taking the side of confirmed perpetrators, and as it continues, justifying violence and extremism, moreover, ensuring further financing of these violent groups.
As a reminder, the EU institution paid Nika Melia’s bail in the June 20 case. Later, we learnt that foreign donor organizations transformed the June 20 violent groups – “Sirtskhvilia,” “Droa” and others – into organized groups and ensured street campaigns,” he said.
The Speaker added that these forces continue to radicalize the developments.
“Georgia experienced civil war and so-called velvet revolution, the agents of which inflicted immeasurable harm to the country. Despite such a past, manipulators and malicious actors, with lies and perceptions, have attempted to slide the country into the same abyss for years.
They are devoid of morality and are desperate since they seek retribution and can dare anything because they are in the minority and wish to suppress the majority with aggression; they lack the basis inside and cling to foreign, external forces with different agendas because they do not love their country and do not care about its destruction if they are in their desirable place,” Papuashvili concluded.
