Speaker: Brussels avoids dialogue because its disinformation will crumble at truth

“There is no ‘Europe’ without respect for the truth and openness to criticism,” writes Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on social media.

Papuashvili asserts that Brussels is avoiding meaningful dialogue.

“It is no surprise that Brussels is avoiding dialogue, especially on issues where they might actually have to listen and respond.

The reason is simple: when your positions are founded on false narratives and disinformation, you know that a single, truthful word in a reasoned discussion will expose the falsehoods and cause them to collapse.

There is no ‘Europe’ without respect for the truth and openness to criticism,” concludes Papuashvili.

For context, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Georgia-EU Human Rights Dialogue meeting, scheduled for November 21, 2025, in Brussels, has been postponed by the EU. The Foreign Ministry emphasised that this postponement indicates Brussels is not prepared to listen to Georgia’s perspectives.
