Sopo Kiladze elected Chair of UN CRC

Sopo Kiladze, former Chairperson of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee in the Parliament of Georgia, has been elected Chair of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC).

Kiladze announced her election on Facebook, expressing her commitment to children’s welfare.

“I am honoured to have been elected as Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. I sincerely thank all my colleagues for their confidence. During this challenging period, I will do my utmost to serve the interests of children both in Georgia and around the world. I am proud that a representative of our homeland has been entrusted with this responsibility,” she stated.
