Society should be free to ensure public involvement, said Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili at the awarding ceremony of social entrepreneurship young ambassadors at the Orbeliani Presidential Palace held with the support of the EU and the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG).

President Zourabichvili, EU Ambassador to Georgia Pawel Herczynski and CSRDG Executive Director Eka Urushadze addressed the invited guests.

Speaking about the importance of social entrepreneurship development, President stressed that the initiatives and endeavors of the youngsters could give a new life to the regions.

“As I understand the responsibility of social entrepreneurship young ambassadors is to deliver the idea and concept of social entrepreneurship to the youth residing in the regions, to familiarize them to the means through which people in their villages and communities represent themselves, introduce their initiatives and implement them. Your message is very clear and significant – a free person can do everything,” President said.

Ana Akhlouri from Tserovani IDP settlement of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region was awarded as the Best Social Entrepreneurship Young Ambassador. The International Center for Peace and Integration (ICPI) awarded her with the study visit to Czech Republic. The CSRDG selected Social Entrepreneurship Young Ambassadors from 4 regions: Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti.

Young Ambassadors Program was held within the framework of the EU-supported project Social Entrepreneurship Development for Sustainable and Inclusive Society.
