Self-Governance Committee Chair says GD aims to ensure constitutional order, democratic process
“It is not our self-goal to annul any political party but to ensure constitutional order, democratic process and stability in the country,” said Irakli Kadagishvili, Chair of the parliamentary Self-Governance Committee.
According to Kadagishvili, the government has been observing gross attacks against the constitutional order and institutions following the last elections through “disregarding common sense and with the desire of the country’s collapse.”
Irakli Kadagishvili believes that the opposition acts against the government at foreign directives.
“They aim to come to power allegedly through public protests. Of course, this impedes the country’s normal development and the European integration process, taking into account national interests. Political processes should be normal, healthy and unpolarized. At the same time, the country should stimulate new political forces to emerge in the political arena since political competition is essential for all democratic states,” he said.
