Georgia has made great progress in implementation of reforms and I hope the country will keep on this path, – President of Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö said in his speech delivered at Freedom Square in Tbilisi.
According to Niinistö, Georgia has made great progress in the development of reforms. “It is a great honor for me to be in Tbilisi. I would like to congratulate you on the 100th anniversary of the restoration of democracy and the statehood of Georgia on behalf of Finland. I’m happy to celebrate this remarkable date with you.
We celebrated Finland’s independence last year and, of course, the basis of every democratic state is freedom, equality, education, establishment of a dynamic and full-fledged society. The principle of standing together applies to international relations too. Of course, cooperation and friendship with partners is beneficial for each side. Georgia is not only Finland’s partner, but a friend. Georgia has made great progress in the implementation of reforms and I hope the country will continue this path. Mr. President, Finland supports Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty,” the Finnish President said.
He also added that Finland supports Georgia in the Geneva International Talks. “I want to once again warmly welcome you. We wish you happiness and success, as our friendly nation,” Niinistö said.
