Saakashvili's sample sneaking incident 'inexplicable,' Vivamedi's MD says

Zurab Chkhaidze, the Medical Director of Tbilisi’s Vivamedi clinic, on Sunday, called a Polish doctor’s attempt to sneak Saakashvili’s samples ‘inexplicable,’ as ‘no one barred obtaining the sample, but it had to be done in a legitimate way.’

“Then they [doctors] demanded it [sample] officially, which they took illegally,” he explained to GPB First Channel.

According to Chkhaidze, obtaining biological samples requires a referral and should be done in the presence of other doctors, which was not done in the first case.

The Special Penitentiary Service on Friday released a statement and video footage showing a Polish doctor “trying to sneak out the paper-wrapped sample taken from the jailed ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili in his shoes.”
