Rustavi City Hall reports discovery of IV-V century tombs during road rehabilitation on Sanapiro Street
According to Rustavi City Hall, preliminary data indicate that tombs dating from the IV to V centuries have been discovered during road rehabilitation works on Sanapiro Street.
The Rustavi City Hall has also confirmed that the Rustavi Historical Museum has provided information to the Cultural Heritage Agency, and a team of archaeologists will soon commence investigations of the site.
“Road works will continue on the second section of the road, away from the area where the tombs were found, under the supervision of archaeologists,” the Rustavi City Hall press service stated.
