Russian airlines lost more than 3 billion Rubles because of a ban on direct Russia-Georgia flights

‘Russian airlines have lost more than three billion Rubles because of a ban on direct Russia-Georgia flights,’- ‘Vedomosti’ reports. According to the Russian media, Ural Airlines underwent the loss above all.

Aeroflot and S7 Airlines, legally JSC Siberia Airlines lost more than 700 million Rubles. As of Pobeda Airlines, it lost 400 million Rubles and Red Wings – 120 million Rubles.

In order to get compensations, Russian airlines submitted indicated data to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, but the Ministry promised to compensate only direct losses.

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on ban flights to Georgia on 8 July 2019.

By the decision of Russia, 6 Russian and 2 Georgian airlines stop direct flights between two countries.
