It is evident that we are observing tense elections – Ross Wilson, acting US Ambassador to Georgia said after the meeting with representatives of non-governmental organizations Fair Elections, Multinational Georgia and Transparency International – Georgia.
“I don’t want to go deep into political disagreement existing in the country. Polarization is high and many issues need to be resolved,” Wilson said.
According to acting Ambassador, civil society is a significant part of democracy that is a positive side of Georgia likewise other countries.
Wilson also said that he would closely observe the process of the second round of 2018 presidential elections.
