Romanian Ambassador says EU candidate status to be collective decision

Răzvan Rotundu, Romanian Ambassador to Georgia, said that the country has “some achievements” to receive the candidate status.

However, it is up to the EU’s 27 member countries to make a “collective decision” after they see the report on the fulfilment of the EC-proposed 12 priorities.

“This is a collective decision that will be taken by the 27 counties, members of the European Union, after we see a report from the Commission on the fulfilment of twelve priorities. We are in talks with Georgian society. We have seen the achievements. We have also seen that some things have to be done. It is a working process at this moment,” he said.
