Roads Department reports traffic restrictions due to heavy snowfall

The Roads Department of the Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development on Friday announced that movement is free across main highways throughout Georgia following intensive road cleaning works.

Traffic restrictions stand in mountainous regions due to heavy snowfall and frost.

The movement of semi-trailers and trailers is prohibited on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi highway. Movement of other types of vehicles is permitted.

Movement of heavy vehicles is prohibited at Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestaphoni road.

Movement at the Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi highway is allowed for light vehicles using anti-skid chains, while all-wheel drive vehicles are permitted to move.

Semi-trailers, trailers, and over 30 seats capacity passenger buses are banned from driving on the 30-186 km (Jvari-Ushguli) section of the Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili highway.

4 WD vehicles can move on the Khaishi-Ushguli road. Traffic is free at the Zugdidi-Jvari section.
