Road incident disrupts traffic on 31st kilometre of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway
The Roads Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Infrastructure has announced that, owing to a traffic accident, all vehicular movement is prohibited on the 31st kilometre of the internationally significant Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi highway (Zhinvali-Ananuri section) until further notice, expected to be until morning.
The relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are currently on site, working in accordance with safety standards to manage the situation.
The Roads Department has issued a public advisory, urging travellers to avoid the Zhinvali-Ananuri section (kilometre 31) of the highway.
“We advise passengers to refrain from travelling on the Zhinvali-Ananuri segment (kilometre 31) of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi highway,” the department stated.
