Member of the Georgian national weightlifting team Revaz Davitadze won the gold medal in the snatch with setting a record U23 category, at ongoing 2019 European Weightlifting Championship in Batumi.
The 20-year-old weightlifter from Tbilisi, who is the current European champion and the medalist of the world championship, has already retained the title in one discipline. At last year’s European Championships in Bucharest, Davitadze took the first place in the snatch, and finally won a gold medal for the total score.
At European Weightlifting Championship in Batumi Davitadze successfully used three tries (164, 167, 170 kg). In the third attempt in a snatch, Davitadze took 170 kg, and improved the previous record by 2 kg in the U23 category.
