Retailers operating in the Railway Station area have reported that a massive fire has destroyed several shops, while others have managed to recover some of their merchandise.
“When I arrived, the fire was raging, and everything was burnt,” recounted one retailer. “I have no information about the cause of the fire; I know nothing.”
Some retailers noted that they had insured their goods.
“When I go home, I turn off the lights and activate the alarm,” explained another retailer. “I have insurance, and some items did survive. They are currently moving everything out onto the street, but if it gets wet, it will be ruined. I don’t know what I will be able to save.”
The significant fire that broke out in the Borjomi Railway Station market area in Tbilisi has now been extinguished, and firefighting teams are actively managing the aftermath. No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
